Ruth Lavonne ‘Vonnie’ Wiggs, 81, of Warsaw, passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at Millers Merry Manor in Warsaw.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1933, in Hancock County, Ky., to Jasper L. and Mary Audeline (Staples) Pearson. She was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident and graduated in 1951 from North Webster High School. On Nov. 15, 1952, in North Webster she married Donald J. ‘Bud’ Wiggs, who preceded her in death.

She retired in 1999 after 25 years with Dekko Heating Technologies, Inc. in North Webster. She was a former member of the North Webster American Legion Auxiliary # 253 and Senior Citizens Group of North Webster.

She is survived by one daughter: Dee (Jim Mort) Stephens, Pierceton; two granddaughters: Amber (Travis) Kinney, Warsaw; Ashley (Jason) Baker, Warsaw; great-grandson: Jaxon Kinney; one brother: Ronald (Liz) Pearson, Leesburg.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, granddaughter: Kimberly Stephens; grandson: Jake Stephens; sister: Faye Gross; and two brothers: Jim and John Pearson.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, in the funeral home with Pastor Byron Kaiser of the United Methodist Church in North Webster officiating. Private burial will be in Oswego Cemetery near Leesburg.

Memorial bequest may be given to Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 East Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
