Skyler Wayne Spore, 12, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born on April 18, 2002, in Crawfordsville, Ind., to Darrick W. Spore and Candy S. Chamness.
He moved to the Syracuse area 6 years ago from Crawfordsville, Ind. and attended Milford Middle School in Milford, Ind. He mowed neighborhood lawns, formerly attended Rock Solid Youth Group and enjoyed playing basketball at Syracuse Community Center.
He is survived by his parents; brother: Tyler Spore; maternal grandmother: Sue Fisher, Crawfordsville; paternal grandparents: Beverly Grimes, Crawfordsville; Dale (Betty) Spore, Syracuse; maternal great-grandparents: Marie Norris, Bonnie (Steven) Moffitt and Bill Chamness, all of Crawfordsville.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Bob Chamness.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Burkhart Funeral Home, 300 S. Grant St., Crawfordsville. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, in the Burkhart Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Lee of the New Harvest Church in Crawfordsville officiating. Burial will follow at the Wesley Cemetery in Waynetown, Ind.
