William KannWilliam H. Kann, 81, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully Dec 18, at home surrounded by his loving family, after a brief but bravely fought battle with cancer.

He was born March 3 1933, in Galesburg, Ill., to Elmer and Catherine Kann. He married Karen, the love of his life, on June 8, 1978, who survives in Leesburg. Bill proudly served 4 years in the US Navy as a flight mechanic during the Korean War. He retired from American Maize in Hammond, in 1994 and moved to the Barbee Lakes area in 1996.

He was co-owner, with his wife, of Heart of the Lakes Antique Mall in North Webster. Bill loved reading, traveling, camping, fishing but most importantly, his family.

He is survived by his children: David Kann, Golden, Colo.; Sheila (Chuck) McCann, Parker, Colo.; Rick Kann, Golden; Celeste (Terry) Saunier, Kimmell; Sandi (Greg) Burger, Knox; four grandchildren: Caitlin, Melissa, Daniel and Katy; and two great-grandchildren: Liam and Lilly; two sisters: Jean (Ward) Huevelman, Littleton, Colo.; and Marjorie Bell, Galesburg, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother: Richard Kann.

No services are planned. Legacy Remembrance Center, Ligonier, is entrusted with the arrangements.
