McCartney, Ancil0001Ancil ‘Mac’ McCartney, 72, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Kindred Healthcare, Greenwood.

He was born on Oct. 18, 1942, Webster Springs, W.Va., to Hubert McCartney and Reesa McCartney. He married Nancy Allmon, on June 19, 1966 in Lisbon, Ohio.

He served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He lived in Indianapolis, and formerly Warsaw.

He is survived by his wife; two sons: John McCartney, Indianapolis; Jim (Roxie) McCartney, Edinburgh; daughter: Teresa (Carl) Howard, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister: Bonnie Wolfe, Wast Liverpool, Ohio; two brothers: Bill McCartney, Webster Springs; Kenny McCartney; one sister: Bonnie Wolfe, East Liverpool, Ohio.

He was a former member of American Legion #49. When he was able he enjoyed playing golf, hunting and he especially enjoyed fishing. He was a loyal Chicago Bears fan.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec., in Palestine Cemetery, Palestine. Pastor Jack Worth, Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126. Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
