The Syracuse Library will be closing on Friday in observance of Independence Day. On Monday, Echo the trained therapy dog is coming so that children and families can read to him. Terrific Tuesdays are having hands-on science fun, inside where it is cool.
There are going to be lots of opportunities to mix and observe ingredients. Wednesday is a time for teens to print paper by floating paint in water. The technique produces what is commonly called marbled paper. Tea time on Thursday is sticky science. All programs begin at 2 p.m. Sign-up for reading with Echo and Tea Time can be arranged by calling 574-457-3022 and asking for the children’s department.
Teens and children can earn rewards for being a summer reader with the Spark a Reaction and Fizz, Boom, Read prize programs. Visit the library for a cool, quiet place and maybe read a magazine. Ebooks can be checked out through the Syracuse Library’s portal at eIndiana.
