Mary SwihartMary Belle Swihart, 80, rural Rochester, passed away at 2:24 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, in the Woodlawn Hospital Emergency Room.

Born Aug. 1, 1934, in Miami County, to Lyle and Cleo (Mathias) DePue, she graduated from Argos High School in 1953. On July 2, 1960, at Argos Christian Church she married James R. Swihart, who survives.

Mary Belle was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, Mentone. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her husband; daughter: Mary Ann Miller, North Webster; sons: James B. and Lynda Swihart, Rockford, Mich.; Lee (Angie) Swihart, Rochester; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Marjorie Davis, Crossville, Tenn.; Lena Tomforde, Boca Raton, Fla.; brothers: John (Rosie) DePue, Argos; Lawrence (Jena) DePue, Buchanan, Mich.; and Lloyd (Carla) Depue, Winamac.

Her funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with pastor Michael Wilhite officiating. Burial was at Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Argos.
