Charlene Shrider, 84 of Syracuse, Ind.,  passed away at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse.

She was born in Paoli, Ind., on May 9, 1930, to the late Charles and Edith Beaty Limeberry. She married Michael Shrider. He preceded her in death.

She retired from NSWC Crane and also CACI in Bloomington, Ind. She formerly lived in Paoli; Bedford, Ind.; and Goshen, Ind. She was a member of the Paoli Friends Meeting, Lost River Chapter# 4052 D.A.R. and AFGE Local# 1414 Government Employees Union.

She is survived by one daughter: Jill Bowles, Bedford, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Jamie Marshall; grandson: Jeremy Daniel Bowles; and sister: Dorothy Baker.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, 226 W. Campbell St., Paoli, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, at the the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Beech Grove Cemetery in Bedford, Ind., following the service.
