Malvin Andersen (341x350)Malvin Andersen, 95, of Warsaw, and formerly of Gardena, Calif., and Lake Havasu, Ariz., passed away at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 06, 2014, in Mason’s Health and Rehab facility in Warsaw.

Mal was born on Dec. 9, 1918, in Duluth, Minn., to Ludvig Andersen and Eline Faksvaag. Mal married Margaret Mary Ann Grace in Los Angeles in 1942 and they were married for 38 years until her death in 1980. They had two children, Loretta Andersen who died a few hours after her birth, and Mark Louis Andersen. Mal married Kathryn (Tyler) Spears in 1990. She preceded him in death. He met Opal Plummer in Lake Havasu in 2009 and she became his companion. They moved to Warsaw, in the summer of 2013.

Mal worked as a Tile Setter for most of his career in Los Angeles, Calif., and later retired to Lake Havasu, Ariz. He was a member of the Elks, Moose and VFW organizations.

He is survived by his only son: Mark Louis Andersen; and two grandchildren: Margaret-Rose Andersen and Casey Alexander Andersen, all of Santa Clarita, Calif.; and one sister: Edith Kynell of Duluth, Minn.
