thumb_nyle_o._foxNyle O. Fox, 73, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, Fla. His devoted wife: Sandy; their three daughters; and six grandchildren were by his side throughout his journey. He and his family were blessed with 16 incredibly precious months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July of 2013.

Nyle graduated with the 1959 class of Van Buren High School. He acquired his Bachelor of Education degree at Purdue University and his masters degree at Ball State, then earned his Education Specialist degree at St. Francis.

He spent his 38-year-career as a teacher, coach, high school principal and superintendent of schools. He taught and coached at Andrews High School; was Dean of Students at Waukegan, Ill.; and high school principal at Crothersville, Tri-County, Winchester, Wawasee High School and Edon High School in Ohio. He had a wonderful relationship with the students and faculties. Nyle’s main interest was his family, but he also enjoyed golfing with his friends, cutting firewood, reading, playing cards, swimming and boating.

He is survived by his wife: Sandra (Buis) Fox; his sister: Nona Kreischer; three daughters: Kelly (Ben) Cupp, Christie (John) Green and Julie (Chris) Smiley; six grandchildren: Shelby Harney, Macy Cupp, Summer Green, Autumn Green, Payton Smiley and Dalton Smiley; and his great-granddaughter: Nyla.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Oris and Edna Fox; and one brother: Noel Fox.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Hanfield Methodist Church in Marion.
