The gas leak located at Marsh Supermarket near the Marathon Station has been contained.

According to reports, a gas line was hit in a grassy area near the Marathon Gas Station. The gas leak is believed to have been caused by digging with a hand tool in the area.

According to fire fighters at the scene, NIPSCO is currently on the scene and is bringing in a crew to repair the gas line. The store will not be evacuated however, there will be a partial road closure of Winona Avenue between Lake Street and Buffalo Street. Traffic is advised to avoid the area.
