Danny 'Dan' Lee AnglinDanny “Dan” Lee Anglin, 81, Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 11:09 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.

He was born on Jan. 21, 1933, in Nappanee, Ind., to Wallace “Monk” Anglin and Enid B. (Snider) Anglin. He was married on July 2, 1966, at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church in Warsaw to Marilyn L. (Smith) Anglin, who survives.

Dan was a lifelong resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana. An avid sports fan, he played basketball at Atwood High School and Manchester College. He was a 2010 Inductee to Kosciusko County Basketball Hall of Fame.

Dan enjoyed golf, bowling and boating on Lake Tippecanoe.  He was a very proud Marine, serving our country during the Korean War. Taking great satisfaction in helping others, he held several community roles including being a member of Otterbein United  Methodist Church of Atwood, Atwood Lions Club, Boy Scout Leader, little league coach, Cardinal Services Inc. volunteer and past president, and a life member of the American Legion Post 49 and V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw. He was a farmer, a business owner, and part owner of Clunette Elevator. Dan was also known for selling his white sweet corn in the summer and plowing out many Atwood area driveways in a John Deere tractor for free during the winter.

However his most enjoyment came from coaching and watching his children and grandchildren participate in their endeavors. Always supportive, always smiling with a twinkle in those blue eyes…he shared that smile with so many throughout his life.  He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the community. The Marine’s Hymn says Heaven’s streets are guarded by United States Marines. God, Corporal Anglin peacefully reported aboard from his home after a magnificent tour of duty on earth. Semper Fidelis.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters: Anje Anglin (Gerry Baber), Warsaw; Aimee (Ryan) Graves, Columbia City, Ind.; son: Dion (Nicole) Anglin, Naperville, Ill.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters:  Connie Jordan, Warsaw; Sue (Larry) Shively, Warsaw.
