Steven K. Prater, 32, of Columbia City, Ind., formally of Silver Lake, Ind., passed away in his residence at 4:03 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014.

He was born on December 19, 1981, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Steven K. Raver and Alice Prater. Steven was a computer designer. He was attending college. He enjoyed fishing and canoeing. He also loved animals and to draw; he was an artist and a tattooist.

He is survived by his mother: Alice Prater, Silver Lake; a brother: Tarzan Prater, Silver Lake; a sister: Christine Blankenship, Silver Lake; Nieces, Lisa (Don) Nelson, Akron, Ind., Heather (Zackary) Williams, Akron, Cheyenne Miller, Pikeville, Ky., and Rhealynn Salisbury, Pikeville, Kentucky; nephews: Michael Nelson, Warsaw, Ind., and Anthony Blankenship, Silver Lake.

He is preceded in death by his father Steven Raver, Sept. 6, 2014, one brother and his companion.

They will be no calling. There will be a celebration of Steven’s life at a later date.

The family is requesting that the memorial contribution be made to Relay For Life of Kosciusko County, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, Indiana, 46545.
