Carole Jane La Rue of Winona Lake passed at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at Grace Village Assisted Living of Winona Lake at the age of 78.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1936, in Ashland, Ohio, to Lawrence Reas Roby and Hilda L. (Long) Roby.
She was married on Aug. 14, 1954, in Ashland, Ohio, to Ronald Jay La Rue, who passed on Aug. 23, 2011.
Carole graduated in 1954 from Ashland High School, Ashland, Ohio. She was a resident of Kosciusko County for 46 years where she was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, Winona Lake Literary Club and the 3 Rivers Decorative Artists Association of Fort Wayne. Carole worked for a number of years in the production department for Ken Anderson Films in Warsaw.
Survivors include: three daughters: Sandra (Barry) Long, Leesburg, Susan (Joe) Schmitt, Syracuse, and Melinda (Charles) Sheetz, Claypool; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, two brothers and her sister.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow and Chaplain Bryan Benjamin.
Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
