Billie J. “June” ZolmanBillie J. “June” Zolman, 86, of Atwood, Ind., (formerly of North Webster, Ind.) passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, at her home.

She was born on August 19, 1928, in Plymouth, Ind., to Paul L. and Bernice (Hisey) Buckingham.

She attended Riley High School in South Bend and Tobias Beauty College in South Bend and was married on March 11, 1972, in South Bend to Richard S. “Dick” Zolman who preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 2011.

She moved to the Warsaw/North Webster area in 1975 from South Bend before moving to Atwood with her daughter due to declining health. She retired from Counting House Insurance in Warsaw as the assistant to the president.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster, enjoyed ballroom dancing and & boating & fishing on Tippecanoe Lake.

She is survived by two daughters: Melinda “Mindy” Groeneweg, Atwood,  Cindy (Russ) Kuc, Mishawaka; two sons: Paul (Sharon) Orban, South Bend, and Richard (Jan) Orban, Warsaw; a step daughter: Charlene (Kenneth) Wurtsbaugh, Mishawaka;
10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents, husband and step son: Gary Zolman.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Entombment services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3 in the Riverview Cemetery, 2300 Portage Ave, South Bend.

Memorial bequest may be given to American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
