Warsaw Police Department

Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Friday, June 6, 11:53 p.m. 819 N. Detroit St. Drivers: Jacquelin C. Torres, 17, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw; and Vivina M. Calderon, North 175 East, Warsaw. Torres backed from a parking space at a restaurant and collided with Calderon’s vehicle, which had also just backed from a parking space. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, June 6, 10:25 p.m. 1011 E. Arthur St. Driver: Carla J. Hatfield, 65, Maple Lane, Greenback, Tenn. Hatfield was towing a trailer at Pike Lake Campground and turned too sharply causing the trailer to strike a parked vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, June 6, 6:24 p.m. North Detroit and Shelden streets. Drivers: Kendra R. Smith, 22, Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, Md.; and Albert L. Smith, 32, West Catherine Street, Milford. Kendra Smith was following Albert Smith southbound on Detroit Street when Albert Smith’s vehicle stopped quickly and Kendra Smith was unable to avoid a rear-end collision. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, June 6, 5:06 p.m. East Winona Avenue and South Indiana Street. Drivers: David J. Lee, 43, West SR 14, Silver Lake; and Miranda M. Mikel, 40, Oakwood Drive, Warsaw. Lee was northbound on Indiana Street and stopped at the stop sign, waiting to turn onto Winona Avenue. When he pulled into the roadway, he collided with Mikel’s vehicle, which was attempting to also turn onto Winona Avenue from southbound Indiana Street. Damages: up to $5,000

Friday, June 6, 4:39 p.m. Lake City Highway and East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Billy J. Foshee, 63, Harrison Street, Markle; and Alexis A. Ostrom, 18, East 400 South, Warsaw. Foshee was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Lake City Highway when Ostrom’s vehicle stopped suddenly for traffic that was backed up at a traffic light. Foshee attempted to brake, but began sliding and struck the driver’s side rear bumper of her vehicle. The collision sent Foshee’s motorcycle into the median. Foshee sustained back pain but refused medical treatment at the scene. Damages: up to $10,000

Friday, June 6, 3:58 p.m. Lake City Highway and North Parker Street. Drivers: Michelle Wunder, 36, North 650 East, Pierceton; and Bruce C. Catherine, 57, Woodview, Zanesville. Wunder was westbound on Lake City Highway and said traffic in front of her stopped suddenly. She was unable to avoid crashing into the rear of Catherine’s vehicle. Catherine stopped for traffic that was stopped at the traffic light. Wunder and Catherine both complained of neck pain. Damages: up to $10,000

Friday, June 6, 2:50 p.m. South Detroit and East Market streets. Drivers: Alexis C. Lynch, 18, South 900 West, Larwill; and Jorge Aguilar, 39, East 200 North, Warsaw. Lynch said she was looking for a street sign and failed to see the traffic light turn red. She ran the light and was struck by Aguilar’s vehicle. Lynch complained of neck pain. Damages: up to $10,000

Friday, June 6, 10:38 a.m. East 250 North and North Boeing Road, Warsaw. Driver: Ana L. Montoya, 38, East 200 North, Warsaw. Montoya was westbound on 250 North when she believes she blacked out and/or had a seizure, causing her drive off of the road and collide with a utility pole. Montoya complained of arm pain. Passengers in her vehicle also complained of pain. They were 8-year-old Joel Montoya, who sustained leg pain; 13-year-old Gismley Montoya, who complained of abdominal pain; and 15-year-old Gerson Montoya, who sustained a facial abrasion. Damages: up to $10,000
