Deone Wayne Himes, 80, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his residence at the age of 80.
He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw, where he was a 1953 graduate of Warsaw High School.
He was a member of the Warsaw Bowling League, and for a number of years he worked at the Holiday Bowling Lanes. He later went into business as a private contractor as a tiling and ceiling installer. Deone enjoyed his yard work and especially his family. He was an avid weather watcher and a loyal Cubs fan.
He was born on April 14, 1934, in Warsaw, to Richard Himes and Florence (Dorsche) Himes. On Feb. 14, 1969, he was married to Evelyn May Zimmerman, who passed away on Dec. 17, 1997.
He is survived by a daughter: Deona (Jay) Moore, Tuscon, Ariz., and their children: Shawna and Ashley; and a daughter Deb (Rob) McDonald, Warsaw, and their children: Greg and Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sisters: Betty Gelbaugh and Mary Graber.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. No services are planned. Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
