Donald F. LewisDonald F. Lewis, 99, of Columbia City, died at 2:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center where he was admitted on Tuesday.

He was born April 12, 1915, in Clarence, Ill., a son of Freeman and Rose (Lewis) Lewis. His formative years were spent in Illinois. He graduated from Paxton High School, Paxton, Ill.

On Aug. 3, 1936 he was united in marriage to Edith P. Rollins, who died Dec. 21, 2006.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Surviving include: five daughters, Donna (Bill) Achenbach, Fort Wayne, Judy (Ted) Dobbins, Warsaw, Rita (Ron) Longenbaugh, Columbia City, Sandra (Bruce) Allison, Dover, Delaware and Debra (Todd) Brock, Kennesaw, Georgia; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son Charles Lewis, an infant daughter, Rosemary Lewis; three brothers Marvin, Frank and Jesse Lewis and three sisters Bessie Clark, Grace Clarke and Susie Riggleman.

The funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 20, at Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 709 W Business 30, Columbia City.
