NLC-logoGOSHEN – It was another banner year for the Northridge Raider softball program, while Concord stepped forward as a team to beat heading into next season. The Raiders and Minutemen headline the Northern Lakes Conference All-Conference softball list for the 2014 season.

Northridge, which finished 13-1, had eight total players make the list. Haley Nixon, Grace Grevengoed, Taylor Long, Brianne O’Dell, Hannah Kistler and Mikayla Deisler all were named All-NLC while teammates Brooke Maes and Bailey O’Dell were tabbed Honorable Mention All-NLC.

Concord, which wrapped up 12-2, put six of its members on the lists. Jenny Miller and RaeAnn Miller, along with Maddi Jackowiak and Sabrina Scherer were All-NLC while McKenzie Loge and Jade Iavagnilio were named to the Honorable Mention All-NLC list. Concord head coach Dawn Austin was voted as the NLC Coach of the Year.

Wawasee, which finished tied for third at 8-6 in the NLC, landed Danielle Gunkel and Kylee Rostochak on the All-NLC list with Amber Lemberg earning Honorable Mention All-NLC honors.

Warsaw, wrapping up fifth at 6-8 in the conference, also had three named in Ashley Ousley and Kaleigh Speicher All-NLC and Kara Dishman Honorable Mention All-NLC.

NorthWood, which surprised several during the season including Concord and Wawasee, tied Wawasee at 8-6 overall and had Summer Stillson and Allie Mattingly make the All-NLC list with Taylor Troxel garnering an Honorable Mention All-NLC nod.

Memorial (5-9), Goshen (3-11) and Plymouth (1-13) each had one athlete named All-NLC and one named Honorable Mention All-NLC. Memorial had Kiersten Osowski All-NLC and Gretchen Hurtle Honorable Mention All-NLC. Goshen had Taylor Caouette All-NLC and Jessica DeStefano Honorable Mention All-NLC. Plymouth had Sarah Iwinski All-NLC and Bailey Brown Honorable Mention All-NLC.
