Cynthia (Michael) Yensel, 61, of London, Ohio, passed away Nov. 17, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 8, 1953, in Wabash.

Cindy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Cindy worked as a nurse in Children’s Hospitals for nearly 40 years. Recently she was a nurse practitioner at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, for the last 13 years. Cindy was one of a kind kindred spirit. She always focused on the needs of others before hers. She flourished in her profession with a positive “can-do” attitude and was unafraid to take on a difficult situation. Her love for her family and friends will be greatly missed. Cindy was also an avid Indiana Hoosier basketball fan and loved her college basketball.

She is survived by her parents: Kennith and Jenine Michael, South Whitley; her husband: Frank Yensel; sons: Phillip (Rachel) Yensel; Stuart (Mindy) Yensel; step-children: Thomas, Tracie; Tiffany Yensel; three grandchildren: Nikolai, Naomi and Aleksander Yensel; nine step-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; brothers: Marvin (Jan) Michael, Claypool; Ben (Deeda) Michael, Pierceton; sisters: Gwen (Brock) Ostrom; Beverly (Kris) Dierks, both of Claypool.

 

A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, the Mount Sterling First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Sterling, Ohio. Rev. Jeff Griffith will officiate with her final resting place being in Fischers Cemetery in Sidney. Porter-Tidd Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
