Emmett Loyd AndersonRev. Emmett Loyd Anderson, 83, of Grace Village Retirement Community of Winona Lake, passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at Grace Village Health Care.

He was born on Dec. 15, 1930, in New Haven, to Loyd Everett Anderson and Virga Edith (Zeigler) Anderson. On June 8, 1952, he was married to Barbara Eileen (Schoenauer) Anderson who survives in Winona Lake. Emmett was a 1956 graduate of Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana then went on to the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio graduating in 1958.

He was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past 14 years where he was a member of the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church, and Warsaw Kiwanis Club member for many years. He served as a pastor throughout Indiana: Erie, Collins, Decatur, Urbana, Bethany in Fort Wayne, Kokomo Faith, Avila, Alexandria, Hobart Trinity, Logansport and then into retirement.

He is survived by his daughter: Edith (Chan) Wong, San Jose, Calif.; son: Rev. Emmett (Cindy) Anderson, Jr., Beaver, Pa.; four grandchildren: Matthew Wong, Cairo, Egypt; Kristen Wong, San Jose, Calif.; Christopher (Ashley) Anderson, Pittsburg, Pa.; Nathan Anderson, Beaver; two sisters: Clara (Pete) Mitchell, Columbia City; Anna Keirn, Columbia City; and his brother: Daniel (Evelyn) Anderson, Defiance, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and will be officiated by Rev. Larry Ray. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at South Whitley Cemetery in South Whitley.
