Nichole Leshawn Mikel, 17, of Etna Green, passed Thursday, Nov. 13, at her residence

She was born on April 23, 1997, in Warsaw, to Rick and Heather (Sauer) Mikel. She was a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School.

She was a longtime volunteer at The Magical Meadows Therapeutic Horse Back Riding Center of Warsaw. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Fort Wayne,. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. She loved animals, drawing and was a self-taught keyboard player.

She was survived by her parents; a sister: Amber Mikel, Etna Green; paternal grandparents: Dave and Wanda Mikel, Etna Green; maternal grandparents: Ed and Sherry Sauer, Warsaw; paternal great-grandmother: Deloris Senff, Bourbon.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Green of the the Primitive Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be held in Harrison Center Cemetery Etna Green.
