Alice A. Engle, 79, of rural Claypool, passed away at 5:07 a.m., Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
She was born on April 20, 1935, in Kosciusko County, to Leslie and Mary (Decker) Hohman. On July 17, 1953, she was married to Roy Engle in Burket. He survives.
Alice was a homemaker as well as working at Wendy’s of Warsaw. She also loved to volunteer at the Senior Center of Warsaw. She loved being there for all of her family especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her husband; daughters: Joyce (Bryan) Mendenhall, Claypool; Kathy (Arthur) Fields, Mentone; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Martha (Thurman) Kittrell, Grand Bay, Ala.; Betty Lykins, Ocala, Fla.; brother: Dallas Lee Hohman, Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by a son: Roy Allen Engle; and a brother: WIlliam Gross.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the funeral home with Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating. Burial will be held in Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.
