photoJoel ‘Joe’ L. Reichert, 74, of Bourbon, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

Joe was born Feb. 9, 1940 at Plymouth, to Carl and Kathryn (Roll) Reichert. He was a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area graduating from Bourbon High School, class of 1958. Joe married Mary Hannah on Feb. 28, 2004. She survives.

Joe was retired from (Aker Plastics) Maxx Fiberglass of Plymouth. He still worked loading trucks until his recent illness. Joe attended Shiloh Wesleyan Church of Plymouth. He also loved to golf, fishing and was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife; three children: Michael (Penny) Reichert, Warsaw; Jay Reichert, Warsaw; Annette (Fred) Buck, Fla.; two step-sons: Eric (Julie) Weedling, Plymouth; and Demagus (Alan) Kashtai, Sellersburg; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters: Judy (Noel), Nappanee; Mary Clark, New Carlisle; Carolyn Kulas, Kansas; two brothers: John (Audrey), Rochester; and Fred (Bonnie) Reichert, California.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home with Pastor Justin Chambers of New Song Church, Plymouth.

Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
