1449302_profile_picMaxine LeCount, 89, formerly of Nappanee, passed away at 12:55 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa, where she has resided since 2012.

She was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Walkerton to Peter and Pearl (Sheets) Shenenan. She was a graduate of Union Township High School in LaPorte County. Her first marriage was to Kenneth LaMar Warren, he preceded her in death. She then married Donald J. LeCount, July 3, 1964, in Syracuse.

Maxine has lived in this area since 1943. She had worked at Central Elementary School, IXL in Goshen and Holiday Rambler in the Cabinet Shop. She was a member of the Goshen Church of God. Maxine enjoyed crocheting, making many items and giving them away to family and friends.

Maxine is survived by her husband; daughters: Sandy (Ernest) Crilow, Wakarusa; Sharon (Ronald) Hughes, Galivants Ferry, S.C.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; stepsons: Don (Kathy) LeCount, Leesburg; Richard LeCount, Cromwell; Charles (Marilyn) LeCount, Smelterville, Idaho; Glen (Jamie) LeCount, Ames, Iowa; and 15 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Esther Nichols.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home to proceed to Union Center Cemetery for graveside service.
