Russell Van CurenRussell B. Van Curen, 75, Warsaw, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, in Warsaw Meadows Healthcare Center, Warsaw.

On Dec. 10, 1938, he was born to Wilbert and Mary (Deaton) Van Curen. He was united in marriage to Ana Nova on Dec. 17, 1978, in Warsaw, who survives.

A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Van Curen graduated from Warsaw High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1964. He then served in the Air National Guard being honorably discharged in 1983.

He worked for NIPSCO, where he retired in 1999 after 25 years of service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, American Legion Post No. 49, Warsaw, Disabled Veterans and the Republican Party.

Additional survivors include: two children, Stephen (and Vicki) Van Curen, Warsaw and Debbie (and Mike) Juillerat, Pierceton; three grandchildren, Shandy, Tabitha and Ethan; three great grandchildren, Avery, Zeke and Madelyn; two brothers, John and Phil Van Curen and two sisters, Bert Banghart and Joyce McBroom. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sue Banghart.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 4, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with a rosary at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 4,in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
