UPDATE: As of approximately 12:50 p.m., NIPSCO has restored power in the Warsaw and Winona Lake areas.

A blown transformer has caused a significant power outage in Warsaw. Homes and businesses as well as traffic signals along U.S. 30, SR 15 and Center Street, among other areas, are affected. 

Central Dispatch tells us NIPSCO is working on the problem. No time frame, yet, for when the power will be restored.

Drive with caution, especially along U.S. 30 where traffic is backed up and some minor accidents are being reported.
