Triton Tennis Team Tops Jimmies

images copyBOURBON – The Triton girls tennis team closed out regular season conference play on a high note Thursday.

The host Trojans got dominating wins from its top two singles players to edge Jimtown 3-2 in a Northern State Conference match.

Kaelyn Mason continued her strong season with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles to lead the Trojans to the league win.

Shayla May was impressive at No. 2 singles for Triton with a 6-4, 6-3 win.

The clinching point for the Trojans came from its No. 1 doubles team of Carrie Slabaugh and Holly Stogsdill. The pair won 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3.

Triton improves to 9-3 overall and finishes third in the round robin portion of the NSC at 4-2.

Jimtown won the junior varsity match by a 6-0 final.
