Harvey MillerHarvey M. Miller, 92, of Nappanee, passed away at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa.

He was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Locke Township to Manas and Fannie C. (Hochstetler) Miller. Harvey married Leona Miller on Nov. 8, 1942, in Marshall County. She preceded him in death.

He was a lifetime area resident and a member of the North Main Street Mennonite Church in Nappanee. He worked at Robinson & Price Seed & Feed in Nappanee for 35 years, and then worked for Schmucker’s LP Gas.

He is survived by children: Etta Fern (Wayne) Risser, Elkhart; Rosa Newbry, Goshen; Viola Miller, Nappanee; Larry (Cyndy) Miller, Elkhart; Lanadell (Carl) Helmuth, Adair, Okla.; Wayne (Brenda) Miller, Elkhart; Joyce Evans, Nappanee; Sherri (Merle) Alderman, Nappanee; and Rhonda (Jim) Bellman, Nappanee; 28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and sister: Rosa Miller, Nappanee.

He was preceded in death by infant son: Merlin Ray Miller; a great-great grandson; son-in-law: Jim Evans; and half-brother: Albert ‘Sunshine’ Miller.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at North Main Street Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at North Main Street Mennonite Church. Reverend Ruben Chupp will officiate, assisted by son-in-law Carl Helmuth. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery.
