Rebeca Rodriquiez, 77, of Plymouth, Ind., passed away at 7:18 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014.

Rebeca was born April 15, 1937, in Santa Rosa, Texas, to Marcos and Esther O. Hernandez. Rebeca married Jose L. Rodriguez on Aug. 4, 1960. Jose and Rebeca moved to Plymouth in 1967 and in 1968 she began working for Lear, until she retired in 2003, leaving behind a job she enjoyed and many dear friends.

Rebeca had been a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church for over 40 years and believed in her faith and her love of God. She always saw the positive side of things and being a good person with good values was important to her. Rebeca was the person any of her friends and family could count on when they needed help or comfort. She would do anything for anyone. She would always tell her children to be nice, be polite, and work hard. That’s what mattered most to her.

She is survived by her loving husband; their eight children: Robert (Adelaida) Rodriguez, Edelmiro (Norma) Rodriguez, Esther Rodriguez-Thompson (Bill), Elisa Sims, Vida (Chris) Erickson, Ricardo (Claudia) Rodriguez, Cristobal (Cristina) Rodriguez, and Eddie (Brooke) Rodriguez; her 35 grandchildren; also 17 great-grandchildren and two more on the way.

Rebeca was preceded in death by her father, Marcos Hernandez; her mother, Esther O. Hernandez; her sisters, Herminia Montemayor and Juanita Marquez; her brother, Jose Roberto Hernandez; and her infant son, Juanito Rodriguez.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, with rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Saint Michael Catholic Church, and will be officiated by Reverend Eloy Jimenez. Burial will be in Saint Michael Cemetery, Plymouth.
