Mary A. Stump, 78, New Paris, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, as a result of a traffic accident.
She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Milford, to Arthur and Charlotte (Umbaugh) Wise. She married Louis E. Stump on Aug. 22, 1954, in Nappanee.
Mary was a teacher’s aide and school secretary, retiring in 1996 from Fairfield High Community Schools after 26 years. She was a member of the IAOEP (Indiana Association of Educational Professionals), Secretaries Association and Grace United Methodist Church, where she was a part of the UMW.
She is survived by her husband; daughter: Denise E. (Marty) Long, Goshen; son: Steven E. (Lenore) Stump, Goshen; sisters: Joan (Lawrence) Schutz, Bremen; Nancy (Robert) Wemple, Albuquerque, N.M.; Janice Yoder, Wakarusa; grandchildren: Jesse Long, Goshen; Samantha Gangloff, Mount Juliet, Tenn.; Chauncey Long, Carmel; Rachele Morrison, Baldwin, Mo.; and a great-granchild: Duke Wayne Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Sandra Wise; and a brother: Robert Wise.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, with Reverend Bob Doane officiating. Burial will be in New Paris Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church or Boy Scout Troop #12, New Paris.
