Alma Wadkins, 87, Mentone, Ind., passed away on Oct. 10, 2014 at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1927 in Floyd County, Ky., to the late Dick and Ellen (Brown) Robinson. On July 3, 1946 she was united in marriage to the late George Wadkins Sr. World War II veteran, in Floyd County, Ky.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle of Claypool, since 1972. Family and friends were very important to her. Having all of her family together was one of her greatest joys.
She was very proud of her southern heritage and was something that she spoke of often. She taught her family strong values and the importance of God. One of her favorite past times was watching the birds outside her window. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She has five children: Maggie Gang, Mentone; Mary Alice (spouse Delmar) Estep, Claypool, Ind.; Billy Ray (Donna) Wadkins, Silver Lake, Ind.; Jerry G. (Regina) Wadkins, Kimmel, Ind.; Judy (Mark) Fenton, Warsaw, Ind.; a sister: Ida Mae Dotson, Mentone; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; three sons: George Jr.; James E.; and Charles M. Wadkins; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be on from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw. Funeral Services for Alma will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastors Paul Copeland and William Whitaker will be officiating the services. Burial will take place following the services at Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake.
Family has requested that memorial contributions be made out to the Full Gospel Tabernacle of Claypool, 205 N. Main Street, Claypool, IN 46510.
