Whitko-Icon-130x130SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko baseball team got a pair of strong pitching performances Saturday to take two games from Southern Wells.

The host Wildcats won the opener by a 5-4 count and then took game two by a 12-2 final.

Zach Snep went the distance on the hill in the opener. He allowed just six hits, while walking two and strikeout out four.

Snep also helped his own cause at the plate by going 2-3 in the win. He had a double, scored a run and drove in two for the winners.

Ethan Nicodemus also had two hits, including a double, and scored a run.

The Wildcats piled up 11 hits in winning the second game.

Avery Robbins went the distance on the mound in the six inning win. Robbins also went 2-3 and scored a run. Nicodemus had a double for the Wildcats.

Whitko, now 11-6, will host Three Rivers Conference foe Tippecanoe Valley today at 5 p.m.
