Denvil Yates (260x350)Denvil ‘Lee’ Yates, 82, of Rochester, Ind., and formally of Pierceton, Ind., passed away at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, in Rochester.

He was born on Aug. 29, 1932, to Thomas Sherman and Katie (Spencer) Yates in Prestonsburg, Ky. He was united in married to Mary Louise Meade on Dec. 30, 1955. She preceded him in death. He retired in 1999 from Creighton Brothers in the Poultry Division. Lee enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughters: Alicia Jean Miller, Pierceton; Kattie Ann Amburgy, Rochester; Carolyn (Arnold) Shepherd, Warsaw; Charlene (Jerry) Wogoman, Rochester; a son: Arthur (Lorene) Yates, Warsaw; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 8, to the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Gods Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw. Pastor Bob Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

The family is requesting that the memorial contributions be made to Gods Highway to Heaven Church, 550 Webber, Warsaw, IN 46580. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel is entrusted to assist the family with the arrangement.
