Ronald H. Ott, 92, formerly of rural Churubusco, died Friday evening, Oct. 3, 2014, at Timbercrest Healthcare, North Manchester where he became a resident Sept. 27.

He was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Noble County, a son of W. Denver and Gertie M. (Hire) Ott. He attended school in Merriam and graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1940.

On Sept. 5, 1948, he was united in marriage to Jennie Irene Ott. She survives.

A lifelong farmer, they made their home on their farm in Noble Township, Noble County. On July 3, 2012, they moved to Timbercrest Retirement Community.

He was a member of Blue River Church of the Brethren.

Additional survivors include his wife, Irene; five children, R. Keith (Donna) Ott of Kimmell, Elaine (Michael) Franklin of Brentwood, Tenn., John (Anne) Ott of Churubusco, Kim (Jenelle) Ott of Troy Ohio and Jim Ott of Albion; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Eva Groh, Robert E. Ott and Marjory DeVeny.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, in Blue River Church of the Brethren, 3040 E. 700N, Columbia City with the family receiving friends after 2 p.m. A private burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.

Preferred memorials are to Camp Alexander Mack or Timbercrest Home.
