Denny, Phyllis & FranPhyllis C. Denny, 94, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born on May 31, 1920, Curtisville, Ind., to Thomas G. ‘Jake’ Ault and Hazel (Heflin) Ault. In 1937, she was united in marriage to Russell Woodruff. On Nov. 24, 2949, she was united in marriage to Francis ‘Fran’ Denny in Columbia City, Ind.

She lived most of her life in Tipton, Ind., and Kosciusko County, Ind. She was a cook for many local restaurants. Phyllis was a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church; she liked to sit and watch birds and people; she and Fran enjoyed traveling and had been to every state in the union except Hawaii and Alaska; they also enjoyed getting together with Fran’s army buddies at planned reunions – some of which were held in Warsaw. Phyllis loved her family — including her stuffed monkey Hersey. She often shared, “I have three sons, Carlton ‘Jay’, Russell ‘Dale’ and Rex Lee. They are the finest boys, you see. I love them and they love me. How do I know? They tell me so, by golly!”

She is survived by three sons: Jay (Donna) Woodruff, Warsaw; Dale (Janet) Woodruff, Swansea, S.C.; Rex (Janet) Woodruff, Spencer, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Tom (Marilyn) Ault, Bridgeport, Ill.; Don (Martha) Ault, Warsaw; sister: Wilma Jean Noggle, Carmel, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Francis ‘Fran’ Denny;
and a brother: Joe Ault.

There will be no visitation. A joint memorial services will be held for both Francis and Phyllis Denny at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Warsaw Wesleyan Church, 2402 Old US 30 W., Warsaw, Indiana 46580. Pastor Elissa Dodge (great-granddaughter) Hope Wesleyan Church, Independence, Iowa and Pastor Andy Weaver, Warsaw Wesleyan Church, Warsaw will officiate.
