Warsaw Police Department

Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Saturday, April 26, 11:11 a.m. 2501 Walton Blvd. Drivers: Barbara Newswanger, ; and Brandy J. Warner, . Warner backed from a parking space and Newswanger failed to see the vehicle as she also backed out causing the collision. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, April 25, 5:19 p.m. Lake City Highway and East Center Street. Drivers: Kippi S. Trier, 49, East Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Cynthia J. Beehler, 48, North Nappanee Street, Nappanee. Trier was merging onto Lake City Highway from the East Center Street ramp and looked to the left to merge into the left lane and failed to notice Beehler’s vehicle had slowed, resulting in the collision. Damages: up to $5,000

Friday, April 25, 4:49 p.m. 2501 Walton Blvd. Drivers: Tyler Thomas Zufan, 21, Sophie Lane, Warsaw; and Harold Blankenship, West Spring Street, Etna Green. Blankenship was driving in the travel lane when Zufan backed from a parking space and into the side of his vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, April 25, 3:36 p.m. 2501 Walton Blvd. Drivers: Meta S. Engler, 60, South 25 West, Warsaw; and James W. Lohse, East 700 North, Leesburg. Both vehicles were backing from parking spaces and collided. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, April 25, 3:12 p.m. West Winona Avenue and South Washington Street. Drivers: Jesse L. Hutcherson, 18, South Terrace Drive, Claypool; and Jason M. Wade, 32, East Main Street, Warsaw. Hutcherson was eastbound on Winona Avenue waiting to make a left turn onto Washington Street. Hutcherson failed to see Wade’s approaching vehicle and pulled into its path. Damages: up to $5,000

Friday, April 25, 11:45 a.m. East Main Street and Indiana Street. Drivers: Roger E. Studebaker, 63, South 575 East, Pierceton; and Zachary D. Johnson, 22, East Main Street, Warsaw. Studebaker stopped for a stop sign on Indiana Street but failed to see Johnson’s approaching vehicle and pulled into its path. Damages: up to $10,000
