Kenneth Irvin Dickson, 78, of Plymouth, Ind., passed away Friday, Sept. 26, at his home.

Kenneth was born on Dec. 9, 1935, in Ober, Indiana, to Fred and Rena (Dunkleberger) Dickson. Kenneth married the former Barbara Grace Hite on July 15, 1961, in Donaldson, Ind. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked at Wicks Lumber and retired from Carter Lumber, Plymouth.

Ken was a loving family man who adored his wife and children and was enormously proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical. Kenneth spent a lot of time on his mower, scrapping, and helping anyone and everyone he could. He was the cornerstone that kept his family extremely close-knit, by instilling his morals and values upon them.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 53 years: Barbara Dickson; his daughters: Bev (Marvin) Kaminski, Argos, Ind., Connie (Randy) Norman, Mentone, Ind., and Tracy (Steve) Stockman of Argos; his grandchildren: Matt Norman, Darci (Josh) Osborne, Brittany (Aaron) Kirby, Rochelle (Brian) Overholser, Eric (Betsy) Stockman, Zachary Stockman, and Austin Stockman; his great-grandchildren, Alden and Emily Kirby, and Blake Overholser; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mabel Humes, Goldie Pranger, Eva Humes, and Evelyn Warner; and his brothers, Bill and Harvey Dickson.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at Pretty Lake Fellowship Hall. Military honors presented by American Legion Post 27, VFW Post 1162 and DAV Chapter 42.
