Rex Allen Westerman, 62, Marion, died at 11:34 p.m. Sept. 16, 2014, in Marion General Hospital.

He was born in New Port, Ark., to the late Lee Westerman and Pearl Baker Avalos.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and he was a truck driver. He enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his children, Roxy Bowser, Chandler, Ariz., and Rex A. Westerman, Warsaw; seven grandchildren; four sisters: Peggy, Georgia, Mary Ann and Sandy; a half-brother, Richard Lee; his companion of 23 years, Cathy Pattison.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Ann Chevelle; a brother, Charles Richard Westerman; and two nephews, Ray Warren and Ricky Westerman.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Marion National Cemetery, in Marion, with Pastor Joe Eddington officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Marion.
