Thelma May Kammerer, 100, of Warsaw, Ind., formerly of Leesburg, Ind., passed away Sept. 17, 2014, at Grace Village Retirement Community.
She was born in Kosciusko County, Ind., on Feb. 21, 1914, to Ralph and Mary (Byrer) Tumbleson. She married Al Kammerer on Oct. 19, 1956; he preceded her in death.
Thelma lived in Kosciusko County her entire life, graduating from Atwood High School. She was a homemaker as well as a cook for Leesburg School for many years. Thelma was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, Leesburg Travelers Club and the Tri-Arts Club.
She is survived by two sons: Phillip (Marva) Kammerer, Muncie, Ind.; and Jerry (Cindy) Kammerer, Leesburg; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: George ‘Jim’ Coon; daughter: Georgia Bray; a great-granddaughter: Shantel Miles: one sister: Ethel Vandermark; and a brother: Ralph Tumbleson.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at the Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20, at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Seewald officiating. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.
