TOPEKA – Melissa Goss was the top performer for the Lakeland Christian Academy track team Thursday.
Goss, competing in 9th grade girls’ action, won the 400 in 1:14.52 and the 100 hurdles in 21.90 in action with host Westview, Howe and South Goshen.
Goss also placed second in the long jump with a top effort of 11-7 1/2.
In girls’ 10th grade competition, Carissa Urschalitz was second in the 100 (16.03) and the 400 (1:14.72) for LCA. Cassie Mayer was third in the 200 (37.68) and fourth in the 100 (16.38).
Colby Stevens was third in the 200 (29.74) and fourth in both the 100 (14.26) and discus (76-4 1/4) for LCA in 9th grade boys’ action. Chance Blair placed fifth in the 200 (33.16) and sixth in the 100 (15.78) for the Cougars.
