AKRON – Kassidy Shepherd provided the heroics for the Tippecanoe Valley softball team Thursday night.
Shepherd smacked a two-run game-winning homer in the home half of the eighth inning to beat Winamac 9-7.
Shepherd, who also pitched the final four and two thirds innings to get the win, drove in four runs for the Vikings.
Danielle Adams and Diana Baca each had four hits as the hosts piled up 17 hits in the win.
Lauren Early had two hits for the winners, who improve to 1-2 on the season.
Valley plays at Plymouth Friday at 5 p.m. and hosts John Glenn Saturday at 11 a.m.
