Norma Tethrake, 82, of Milford passed away Sept. 13, 2014 at IU Health Goshen.
She was born in Kosciusko County on Jan. 17, 1932, to Dewey and Iva (Hoppes) Rhoades. Norma married Merle Tethrake on July 16, 1950; he preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2010.
Norma graduated from Atwood High School in 1950 and lived her whole life in Kosciusko County, raising her family in Milford. She enjoyed painting, reading and taking care of animals, especially her cats.
She is survived by four children: Karen (Tim) Pope of Syracuse, Michael (Liz) Tethrake of Milford, Steven (Barb) Tethrake of Collierville, Tenn. and Douglas (Stephanie) Tethrake of Plymouth; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister: Wanda Hoover of Lagrange and three brothers: Arden (Mary) Rhoades of Warsaw, Phil (Cheryl) Rhoades of Goshen and Eddie (Sharon) Rhoades of Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother: Max Rhoades and two sisters: Melba Fleischauer and Donna Troup.
A graveside committal service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at Milford Cemetery.
