Larry Kovar, 91, of Leesburg, Ind., passed away on Sept. 11, 2014 at his home.
He was born on May 16, 1923 in Czechoslovakia to Metold and Anna (Chmelova) Kovar. He married Lorraine Nawrocki who preceded him in 2013.
He was a USMC veteran serving our country in WWII. He was a retired machinist for International Harvester. He was a 20-year Barbee Lake resident having moved here full time from Chicago. He was a member of the Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church.
Larry is survived by his three sons: Ken (Linda) Kovar of Fort Collins, Colo., Matthew Kovar of Bourbonnais, Ill. and Larry (Bernice) Kovar of Leesburg; three daughters: Maryanne Schmeski of Portage, Ind., Elaine Kovar of Crete, Ill. and Laurie Wagner of Leesburg; 13 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded by his wife Lorraine, his sister Rose Dronzek, and his grandson Leslie “Bubba” Lohse.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 from 2-6 p.m. at the Eastlund Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at the Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church with Pastor Jerry Winegarden officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at the North Webster Cemetery/Mock addition.
