She was born June 13, 1919, in Tippecanoe Township, Kosciusko County, Ind., to William Lippincott and Mabel (Woodard) Lippincott. She attended Oswego/Leesburg schools and was 1937 class valedictorian of Leesburg High School, Leesburg, Ind. She married Noel W. Rhinehart on Feb. 9, 1944, Warsaw, Ind.

She was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident and homemaker. Helen began caring for children when her younger sister was born. Her first paid job was right out of high school when she became a nanny and she aided in the start of the former Warsaw Community Service Day Care and acted as its director for 13 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served in many areas of the church – especially where children’s ministry was involved. She was a member of the church’s United Methodist Women; former member of Pythian Sisters and Zerelda Reading Club. She enjoyed cross stitching, embroidery work, having lunch with friends, working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed cooking, including at Epworth Forest church camp. It was common to see her transporting kids to and from music and sporting events. Helen also enjoyed writing historical and genealogical pieces that she had researched including the intense research required to be included as a “Pioneer Family of Kosciusko County”; loved spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter: Kathleen Leedy, Chattanooga, Tenn.; son: William ‘Jack’ Rhinehart, Fort Wayne, Ind; grandson: Theo (Holly) Laughner, Chattanooga; granddaughter: Krista (Sean) Knepp, Sevierville, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren: John, Audrey, Hannah, Jack, Cote and Zane.
