Indiana Department of Transportation Fort Wayne district reminds everyone that as Work Zone Awareness Week winds down and construction projects go into full swing to think about a few things:

• In 2013, 13 people lost their lives in work zones in Indiana
• 30% of work zone accidents are rear-end collisions
• Expect the unexpected in a work zone
• Drive defensively and follow the speed limit
• Avoid distractions and keep your eyes on the road

At the end of the day, whether we are leaving our respective work places, or walking out of the roadway construction work zone, everyone wants to go home to their families.
