2666592-1Stanley E. (Speck) Laidig, 85, of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Sprenger Nursing Care, Mishawaka, Ind.

He was born in Mishawaka, Ind., on Dec. 3, 1928. He graduated from Madison Twp. School. Stanley was married to Myrtle Mae (Weade) on Nov. 8, 1947; they were married 66 years.

He worked for Bendix/Allied Signal for 35 years and was a Union Steward. He enjoyed farming and playing fast pitch softball for Bremen Cafe, Wagner Steel and BK Club in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Stanley is survived by his wife; two daughters: Rebecca (Jeff) Worley, Phoenix, Ariz.; Lisa Laidig, Independence, Mo.; along with two sons: Bruce (Karen) Laidig, Bremen; Jack (Diane) Laidig, Bremen; grandchildren: Tina (Jeremy) Rase, Liz (Jason) Burge, Brett Worley, Chene Worley, Brandon (Danielle) White, Sarah (Ben) Brady and Lizzy White; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Bryona, Brooklin, Braden, Isabelle and Oliver; siblings: Jon (Sonja) Laidig, Marco Island, Fla.; Phyllis Billman, Wakarusa, Ind.; sister-in-law: Jo Laidig, Mishawaka; Dwight (Sandy) Laidig, Plymouth.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother: L. Duane Laidig; and brother-in-law: Richard Billman.

There will be no viewing or service. There will be a private burial service at a later time. Mishler Funeral Home is in charge.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Center for Hospice. The family of Stanley Laidig wishes to thank the staff of Sprenger Nursing Care and the Center for Hospice.
