The Builders Association Kosciusko Fulton Counties learned about economic development occurring in Kosciusko County when George Robertson, executive director, of KEDCo spoke at the March General Membership Meeting.

Several area companies have expanded or are planning expansions in the near future, including Shilo, Patrick Industries, Spartech, Milestone (acquired Da Lite), Biomet and North Central Co-Op. There are currently four announcements pending about further economic development.

Workforce readiness is another area of concentration and development. Manufacturing boot camps, orthopedic training center; OrthoWorx; and working with area high schools and colleges to develop the skill sets needed for employers in Kosciusko County are all ongoing projects.

Shell buildings will be built in the near future in the Industrial Park. Tru Pointe, located in Kosciusko County, also translates into further employment growth. Employment growth and economic development creates a need for new housing in Kosciusko County.

Builders Association Kosciusko Fulton Counties is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to the enhancement of the building industry, education, and community philanthropy are among the areas of focus.
