The Mustangs, who missed out on an NCAA Tournament bid after a late season slide, trailed 38-26 at halftime versus Clemson. SMU hit 13-22 field goals in the final half to outscore the Tigers 39-21 to rally for the win.

Markus Kennedy led SMU with 21 points and nine rebounds.

SMU coach Larry Brown is the only coach to win both NCAA and NBA championships.

Minnesota topped Florida State 67-64 in overtime Tuesday night in the second semifinal game.
