Viola Alice (Jones) Zorn, 84 of Pierceton, Ind., passed away at 5 a.m. on Aug. 25, 2014, in her residence.
She was born to Andrew Frank and Lula Vernice (Hand) Jones in Kewanee, Ill., on March 12, 1930. She was the seventh of nine children.
On Oct. 26, 1946, she married Chester S. Zorn of Pierceton, Ind., moving to Pierceton in January 1947. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 29. A lifetime member of the Warsaw Church of God where she served as a Sunday and Bible School Teacher. She was a lifetime member of the Pierceton American Legion Post #258 and Warsaw VFW Post # 1126. She served as president of the auxiliary for 6 years in both and as a District 2 color bearer. Being a seamstress she did her home decorating and sewing.
She is survived by her husband; three sons: Chester II (Karen) Zorn, North Webster, Ind.; Randal (companion Jeanie) Zorn, Warsaw, Ind.; Richard Zorn, Pierceton; three daughters: Sharon (Tom) Swartz, Warsaw; Kathy (Pat) Stevens, Warsaw; Kimberly (Nicholas) Heinold of Pierceton; a brother-in-law: Jack (Sue) Zorn, Elkhart, Ind.; several nieces and nephews and a special angel: Sandy Zartman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons; a grandson; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; four brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Warsaw Church of God, Warsaw, with Pastor Jerry Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
