KnoopLance D. Knoop, 54, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 7:03 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, in his residence.

On Feb. 2, 1960, he was born in Warsaw to Burl and Louise (Waite) Knoop. He was united in marriage to Crystal Michelle Roberts in Florida, who preceded him in death.

Lance served our country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard from 1979 – 1990. He worked as a self-employed journeyman.

He is survived by his daughter: Mary Knoop Myers (companion Barbie Torres), Warsaw; two sons: Lance D. Knoop II, Elkhart, Ind.; Michael J. Knoop, Warsaw; two grandchildren: Damen C. Myers and Kailalynn E. Myers; his mother: Louise Knoop, Goshen, Ind.; four brothers: Anthony D. Knoop, South Bend, Ind; Kent J. Knoop, South Bend; Brian K. (Heather) Knoop, Leesburg, Ind.; Mark A. Knoop, Louisville, Ky.; three nephews and three nieces.

He was also preceded in death by his father and his brother: Brent Knoop.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at American Legion Post #49, Warsaw. Military Honors will be provided at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, by the American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126, Warsaw.
